FICA helps combat fraud, identity theft and underage play. Operators must verify who you are before paying out.
Required documents
- Valid SA ID or passport (clear photo/scan)
- Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, or similar; dated within 3 months)
- Sometimes: selfie holding your ID, or a short liveness video
File and photo tips
- Use JPG or PDF under the size limit.
- Photograph in daylight; avoid glare and shadows.
- Show all four corners of the document.
- Ensure names and numbers match your account profile exactly.
Selfie or liveness checks
- Remove caps/masks and stand against a plain background.
- Follow the prompts (blink/turn head if requested).
- Submit only from a stable connection.
Verification timelines
- Most reviews complete within 24–48 hours.
- Weekends/public holidays can delay this.
- You’ll be notified by SMS/email/in-app.
Common FICA problems
- Mismatched names or outdated proof of address.
- Cropped or blurry images.
- Using someone else’s documents—will be rejected.
